Making the Grade couldn’t be more honored to have been asked to be part of the official tour for STORMDANCER, an amazing new steampunk novel by debut author and all round badass, Jay Kristoff.
When we were asked what we would like to contribute as part of the tour, instantly my mind screamed at me: ANIME DREAM CAST. The idea was PERFECT for me (and for the book!) in every way. So that is what you will find here on the blog today, my own original STORMDANCER anime dream cast (or three of the characters, at least), all hand-drawn by me and complete with voice actor selections!
Jenna’s STORMDANCER Anime Dream Cast:
Character: Yukiko
According to author, Jay kristoff: “Yukiko never wanted to be a hero or a leader. One of the central struggles across the LOTUS WAR trilogy is Yuki coming to grips with the responsibility and power of being a heroic figure, having people depend on her and look up to her.
Voice Actress: Hirano, Aya
Aya is a Japanese seiyuu best known for her roles in anime, such as Death Note (Misa), Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (Haruhi) and Kiddy Grade (Lumiere). She balances feisty and fierce with a strong emotional impact.
Character: Kin
Kin is a boy whom Yukiko encounters on her journey. He can only live in his “mechanical skin” (something like armor) and “insectoid” helmet. I removed the armor and depict him with his burns.
Voice Actor: Sakurai, Takahiro
Tahahiro is best known for his role as Cloud in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
Character: Hiro
A mysterious samurai with the sea green eyes… There is more to him than meets the eye.
Voice Actor: Morikawa, Toshiyuki
Toshiyuki is best known for his role as Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
Admittedly I have only been following this blog for maybe a month or two, but I had no idea you were such an amazing artist! Wow! Oh, and I love your choice for the voice actress for Yukiko! So much awesome in this post, thanks for taking the time out to do it!
Wow your art skills are amazing! Also I love that you decided to go with an anime cast because I was totally thinking of this while reading it. I think you picked great choices. :)
